Portfolio Proposal
My main goal for this project was to create a portfolio to showcase my skills in Music and Sound Production, as well as the experience and abilities I have developed throughout this course. To demonstrate this, I have created three separate artifacts using Pro Tools and Ableton.
For my first artifact, I am using my Recording and Mixing project. I set up and recorded a multitrack cover of the song “A Rainy Night in Soho” by The Pogues. I then mixed and mastered the track to a professional standard. This directly relates to my chosen job role, as it showcases my ability to mix and master audio to a high standard.
For my second artifact, I used a clip from the TV adaptation of Fallout and recreate the audio using a combination of foley and sounds from a sound library, while also taking creative liberties with certain elements. Although this does not directly relate to my chosen role, it demonstrates my skills in using digital audio workstations (DAWs), as well as my ability to adapt to different tasks while applying production techniques.
For my third artifact, I am using a track I created earlier in the year for the DAW/Synthesis and Sampling module. I have continued to develop this track throughout the year, which demonstrates both my proficiency with DAWs and my overall growth in music production. This artifact directly relates to my chosen job role, as it closely aligns with the type of work I would be expected to produce in this role.
